DL-malic acid is a mixture of d-malic acid and l-malic acid.Malic acid because there is an asymmetric carbon atom in the molecule, there are two stereoisomers. That is, l-malic acid and d-malic acid. In nature, malic acid exists in three forms, namely d-malic acid, l-malic acid and dl-malic acid.
Malic acid is stable under normal conditions and hygroscopicity at high humidity. Triclinic crystal white crystal. Melting point is 130 ℃; Relative density 1.601; Solubility is soluble in methanol, ethanol, acetone and many other polar solvents.
